The flip queue currently only holds events submitted to the driver for flipping, awaiting the completion notifier. It is short. We therefore can speed up interrupt processing by keeping the small number of events ready to be flipped on the end of the flip queue. By appending the events to the flip_queue in the order that they become ready, we also resolve one issue causing Present to display frames out of order. X Server
The X server accepts requests from client applications to create windows,
which are (normally rectangular) "virtual screens" that the client program
can draw into.
Windows are then composed on the actual screen by the X server
(or by a separate composite manager) as directed by the window manager,
which usually communicates with the user via graphical controls such as buttons
and draggable titlebars and borders.
