This reverts commit 5c00e693631475679c1c2504e03177652ec7de28. It broke the Gallium nine state tracker, which makes PresentPixmap requests on one display connection and processes the corresponding events on another one. The issue that motivated this change is prevented on the client side by https://cgit.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/commit/?id=7b0e8264dd21ae05521d08d41fecd84139401fef Bugzilla: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/104678
X Server
The X server accepts requests from client applications to create windows,
which are (normally rectangular) "virtual screens" that the client program
can draw into.
Windows are then composed on the actual screen by the X server
(or by a separate composite manager) as directed by the window manager,
which usually communicates with the user via graphical controls such as buttons
and draggable titlebars and borders.
