d26d08cd1e present: Don't ping-pong between sync and async flips
Many Intel GPUs can't switch between sync and async flips
willy nilly. Sometimes that change itself will take one
extra frame. This means that constant ping-pong between
sync and async flips is only going to cause problems.
Stay in async flip mode as long as the client is requesting
it.

The present protocol spec does say:
"If 'options' contains PresentOptionAsync, and the 'target-msc'
is less than or equal to the current msc for 'window', then
the operation will be performed as soon as possible, not
necessarily waiting for the next vertical blank interval."

So there is an expectation that a future target-msc will
still be respected even when PresentOptionAsync is specified.
Staying in async flip mode won't actually change that given
that present_scmd_pixmap() takes the flip mode into account
when calculating exec_msc. So visually the flip should still
happen on the correct target_msc regardles of whether we
executed it as sync or async.

003d73441b present: Walk all children when setting window pixmaps
We currently skip setting the window pixmap on any window
not using its parent's pixmap. That does not work correctly
in the presence of reparenting.

Consider the following scenario:
1. window A is created as child of B
2. present starts flipping and sets the whole window
   tree to use pixmap X
3. window C is created (uses the screen pixmap by default)
4. window A is reparented to C
5. present stops flipping and attempts to set the
whole window tree back to the screen pixmap,
except the walk terminates at window C
since it's using an unexpected pixmap, and
window A is left with the stale pixmap X
6. pixmap X is destroyed
7. the X server segfaults on a rendering operation
on window A due the stale pixmap

I managed to hit this with mpv (doing present flips)
and crack-attack (keeps alternating between a menu
window and an actual game window):
1. start both applications
2. start a game in crack-attack
3. fullscreen mpv
4. end the game in crack attack
5. unfullscreen mpv
6. the crack-attack menu window has appeared, but
might be corrupted and doing stuff on it segfaults
   the X server

I suppose the other option might be to make new windows
automatically inherit their parent's pixmap instead
of using the screen pixmap. But I've not looked into
how that would affect eg. composite.

a073975fa3 present: Fix use-after-free in present_create_notifies()
Using the Present extension, if an error occurs while processing and
adding the notifications after presenting a pixmap, the function
present_create_notifies() will clean up and remove the notifications
it added.

However, there are two different code paths that can lead to an error
creating the notify, one being before the notify is being added to the
list, and another one after the notify is added.

When the error occurs before it's been added, it removes the elements up
to the last added element, instead of the actual number of elements
which were added.

As a result, in case of error, as with an invalid window for example, it
leaves a dangling pointer to the last element, leading to a use after
free case later:

87bf2cafcc xwayland: add support for wp_linux_drm_syncobj_v1
This protocol allows for explicit synchronization of GPU operations by
Wayland clients and the compositor. Xwayland can make use of this to
ensure any rendering it initiates has completed before the target image
is accessed by the compositor, without having to rely on kernel-level
implicit synchronization.

Furthermore, for X11 clients that also support explicit synchronization
using the mechanisms exposed in the DRI3 and Present extensions, this
Wayland protocol allows us to simply forward the timeline, acquire, and
release points directly to the compositor, ideally avoiding any
premature stalls in the presentation pipeline.

1fab978a95 present: Fix inaccurate PresentCompleteNotify timing for TearFree
The timing of PresentCompleteNotify events is inaccurate when a driver uses
TearFree because there's no way to know exactly when a presentation will
appear on the display without receiving a notification directly from the
driver indicating that the TearFree flip containing a presentation's pixmap
is actually visible on the display.

To fix the inaccurate PresentCompleteNotify timing, make use of the new
assumption that drivers which export TearFree permit a NULL pixmap to be
passed to their flip callback in order to make a presentation track the
exact TearFree flip responsible for rendering it onto the display.

d4bd39f1a5 present: Prevent double vblank enqueue on error when TearFree is used
It's possible for present_execute_copy to enqueue a vblank even when
TearFree is used, specifically when the present_queue_vblank in
present_scmd_pixmap fails and the subsequent vblank enqueue in
present_execute_copy somehow doesn't. This could happen if the DRM event
queue is exhausted when present_queue_vblank is called, but is no longer
exhausted by the time present_execute_copy is reached.

This exceedingly unlikely chain of events can lead to a vblank getting
enqueued a second time by the TearFree machinery in present_execute, which
is not good.

Although this scenario is very unlikely, prevent it by first checking that
the vblank wasn't enqueued by present_execute_copy before attempting to
enqueue it for TearFree.

462b06033e present: Send a PresentConfigureNotify event for destroyed windows
This enables fixing a deadlock case on the client side, where the client
ends up blocked waiting for a Present event that will never come because
the window was destroyed. The new PresentWindowDestroyed flag allows the
client to avoid blocking indefinitely.

16e7cdba48 rootless: Use screen_x and screen_y instead of pixmap pointer hacks
This updates rootless to treat pixmaps consistently with COMPOSITE,
using the screen_x and screen_y values rather than doing hacky math.

This will allow for proper bounds checking on a given PixmapRec.

9108a2bf55 present: add awareness for drivers with TearFree
When a driver uses TearFree to flip all frames synchronized to the vblank
interval, Present has no idea and still assumes that each presentation
occurs immediately upon copying its damages to the primary scanout. This
faulty assumption breaks presentation timestamping, potentially leading to
A/V de-synchronization and dropped frames.

Present needs to have some awareness of a driver using TearFree so that it
can know when each presentation actually becomes visible on the screen.

Teach Present about drivers using TearFree by expanding PresentFlipReason
to allow drivers to export some contextual info about TearFree when Present
cannot page-flip directly anyway.

PRESENT_FLIP_REASON_DRIVER_TEARFREE indicates that a driver has TearFree
enabled but doesn't have a TearFree flip currently pending.

PRESENT_FLIP_REASON_DRIVER_TEARFREE_FLIPPING indicates that a driver has a
TearFree flip currently pending.
